FLAG

This program is great for players who have never played football before and for those that have tackle football experience.  Flag football is no contact and is played with smaller teams, 5v5. With 2 practices each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm-8pm), your player will learn and refine the fundamental skills of football. Tuesday practice will focus on conditioning and skill development. Thursday practice will be focused on flag, creating plays, and preparing for the Saturday game. Games will be held on Saturdays - game schedule will be released the first week of practice.

FALL TACKLE

If you're looking for a full-contact sport, this program is for you! New and returning players are welcome - no previous football experience is required. Join our amazing coaches on the field to learn and refine your football skills, work on running routes, and how to play as one unit. Followed by a game on the weekend to put all the hard work into motion. Teams will be travelling for games during the fall season.

Depending on the league, teams will either be 9v9 or 12v12.

Fall 2025 will have PeeWee, Jr. Bantam and Bantam teams. We plan to expand the tackle program Fall 2026.

Please see the calendar under "SCHEDULE" for scheduling (game schedule will be available closer to September).

FAQ's

Q: Can my athlete still join the tackle season if we are away on holidays during August?

A: YES! We know families will be away during the summer break and that's OK. August is an opportunity for the athletes to get game ready by refining their conditioning, skills, and bonding as a team. If your family is going to be away for holidays, just let us know in TeamLinkT!

Q: What happens if my athlete misses the first week of practice where you cover safe contact?

A: If an athlete is not present for the first week of practice, a coach will pull them aside to cover safe contact before they continue with practice. Safety is always our top priority!

Q: When do games start?

A: Typically, games begin the first weekend of September.

Q: Travelling is expensive and time consuming. What does the club have in place to help families?

A: We highly encourage carpooling to games in Comox, Parksville, and Nanaimo. The club will provide hired transportation for all athletes to games further south on the island and to the mainland. If there is room, parents are welcome to join the athletes and staff on the bus.

SPRING CONDITIONING

**This spring, our conditioning program will be intertwined with our  flag program.**

Previous experience isn't necessary for you to start working on improving as an athlete. The conditioning program is created to help athletes work on their strength, endurance, and fine tuning specific skills such as; running technique, footwork, and so much more.
